Join Marjorie on an upcoming workshop or create a custom class for small groups or individuals.
Have you always wanted to know how to create a portrait or landscape? Did you create art in the past and want help getting back into it? See if there is something that looks right for you.
Individual or small group lessons:
Chicago, IL by appointment.
Price $80 per hour or $225 for 3 hours.
Up to 3 artists may join Marjorie in the studio ($20 per additional person). We will work on the subject and skill of your choice.
You may want to work on still life composition, portrait painting, painting from a master work, drawing or painting from the figure (additional model fees apply).
One primed painting panel or paper is yours to use and keep. Additionally, acrylic paints, basic brushes, basic drawing supplies (charcoal, ink or pencil), and a field easel will be available to use during the workshop. If you have your own supplies please feel bring them and experiment with mine as well.
If you are interested in learning to oil paint, that can be accomodated. If using my supplies additional fees will apply.
Class will run with at least ONE student. Rain or shine.

Marjorie is an artist and educator based in Chicago.
Marjorie’s passion for the act of arting will inspire you to connect with the process of painting no matter your level of experience.

Lisa is a tutor, artist, and spiritual seeker based in Indianapolis.
Lisa is the founder of the Rivoli Park Labyrinth, project lead for community projects, and an enthusiastic artist of life. Her many years of guiding people to flower where they are will become obvious as she facilitates the creativity playshop.

Up to 6 artists may join Marjorie for a one-day alla prima painting workshop.
In the morning we will meet at the McKinley Park Library for basic instruction and a material demonstration.
Lunch will be provided by Chile Toreado.
Afternoon we will create a plein air landscape painting. Students will work to sketch, block in, and create lively textures and colors to create an expressive landscape. Marjorie will offer in-progress hints. At the end of the painting day when the shadows get long we will pack up and share what we have created.

Please wear layers, comfortable shoes, and a sun hat.
Bring a water bottle, sun/ bug protection.
