Flotsam
Spaces are open or cluttered. Life is cluttered with people, belongings, commitments and feelings. It can be overcrowded yet incomplete. We thread through the flotsam over time and try to piece meaning and fulfillment from moments of clarity. You will see a trail of destruction or beauty, a chaotic flurry of observation, a searching for the moment that captures the becoming of image and story. Feminine, beautiful, at times repulsive, and elegant while emphasizing interesting composition my paintings toy with the difference between real and abstract.
Capture the beauty of a gesture. Make it an icon. Uncover the backstory.
Inspirations: Patti Smith, Laura Owens, Joan Mitchell, and Laura Letinsky.
